Hey Guys!

I’m a permenant resident of the US and was wondering whether I was eligiable for the Air Force Academy.

From various people and sources, I’ve been told that I would be eligiable due tom my Green Card to a absolute NO, cause I’m not a citizen.

IF anyone knows and can make this clear, that would be great!

Thanks!

No, you are not eligible for an Academy appointment. You must be a US citizen.

You can serve in the military, you just can’t become an officer.

qoute from the Academy Admissions Requirements;

"A citizen of the United States. Your citizenship must be finalized prior to entering the Academy. You must submit proof of citizenship if you were foreign born or naturalized. Authorized international students are exempt from this requirement. "

If you cannot finalize citizenship there maybe another way to qualify. By enlisting you become eligible for a sreamlined path to citizenship. Following this path could provide you the opportunity to enter as a prior enlisted member.

Just curious Complex27, why have you not pursued citizenship?
