I had indicated that I was applying for financial aid for all my schools on the common app, figuring that I would need it. However, I’ve been talking to my parents, and they insist there’s no point, we would get nothing (they make about 300k a year). Would I be penalized for not turning in financial aid, even if I had indicated I would? Do I need to tell the admissions offices?
You can contact the schools and let them know you won’t be applying for aid.
Or you can just not send in the applications.
no penalty. You can either email the schools or do nothing.
If any of the schools are need-aware (such as Oberlin), I would notify them.
I would notify them as not needing financial aid is a plus at all but the very few new blind schools.
