Not submitting financial aid

For the colleges that I applied to, I checked the box saying that I was planning to apply for financial aid. However, I realized that I will not qualify. If I don’t send my financial aid forms to colleges, will there be any consequences to that?

It will not be a problem if you don’t apply for aid.

Tell them that you aren’t applying or they may hold up your letters waiting for FA paperwork.

What about the reverse? I checked no but since I applied, my parents say I should submit and see if they qualify for any (just in case–don’t want to leave any money on the table). Should email admissions to make that change on my application? Or financial aid office?

You could have your parents run the net price calculator each college has on their website to see if you are likely to get aid.

They did and on 2 in particular it shows they may be eligible for some $ but I said no on the application. Do you think I should email? Or when I submit css it will be automatic?

^ Let them know that you’re applying for aid so that they know to look for the app/don’t add it to the “throw away” pile.

We checked " yes" for some schools but did not fill out the fafsa. It did not hold up her acceptances or merit aid.
