Not Desperate?

I have a question about college applications. I know most schools have the "additional information/ anything we should take into consideration" box to write something. Many people have told me to mention to the school that is your top choice that it is in fact, your top choice school.
I really don't have any idea how to start though. I want the school to know that I really want to go and that it is my first choice but I don't want to sound desperate and unprofessional. Has anybody done this, and if so how have you started writing it?
Thanks :)

If your top choice is any ivy or the like don't bother. If it's a small LAC trying to build their yield, that's when it matters so just make it clear in one of the essays.

Also, what you say better mesh with your list of other colleges you're applying to. If you tell Tufts they are your first choice and a bunch of ivies are on your list, they won't believe you.

yeah it's not an Ivy or anything like that but it is probably the toughest school on my list so I think it works out okay. :)
