On the CommonApp, is it alright to use the personal statement for your passion, if its like the same as your favorite EC? I don't think there is enough room on the 150 word essay to fully get my point(me) across. And if I do that, then what do I put on the 150 word essay? (I know there is another post on this, but I could not find it, sorry)

They let you fit 6000 characters in the box, I think you should stick to the same box. Oh, wait, nevermind. I don't know why I always think everyone is doing the online version... I'm pretty sure you could just attach another sheet.

I didn't mean fit physically. Word count-wise. Like I definitely don't want to go way over the limit. Do they look down on that? Oh and I AM doing it online hah.

If you don't answer that question, you're actually missing out on another chance to convey your passion for your main EC. If it's a real hook, it should be tied into everything in your application --- answer the question, then use the main essay to focus on a specific aspect of the EC and how it affects you. Attach a resume sheet that provides specifics of your involvement. Ask the teacher(s) and GC to mention it in their recommendations. Bring it up in your interview. In short, if it truly is your passion, let it shine through in more than one place. But, at the same time, you should be able to explain why it matters to you in 150 words or less as well.
