Three weeks ago, UC Davis sent me an email telling me that they have received my application. I also applied to UC Berkeley, Los Angeles, and San Diego, but they didn't send me one. A friend told me that she got an email from Berkeley asking for additional information. So I was wondering if any of you guys were in the same situation? Is Davis just really fast about these things? Thanks.

I’m in the same boat as you. I applied to SD, SB, and Berkeley. Only San Diego sent a confirmation email a few days after I submitted my applications. So who knows?

I got confirmation emails from the Common App, but not always from the schools themselves. If you’re really worried you can contact your rep, but I wouldn’t want to pester them. You can also check the Common App website to see what sent.

UC Schools use their own application, not the Common App.

As far as if the schools received our applications, I’d think if one did, they all would because you submit them all at once, like if you send scores to one school they’re shared between them (of course they email me this after sending scores to each school…). I’ve heard about people getting emails about the supplement so hopefully it’s a good sign we aren’t!

I applied to the following UCs: Davis, Berkeley, SD and SB.

I received a confirmation email from SD and then one from Davis a couple weeks later. I haven’t hear from Berkeley or SB yet.

My son hasn’t received an email from Berkeley. However, it says this on their admissions page: “In early January, UC Berkeley will notify applicants, via email, that we’ve received your application. We’ll also provide instructions on how to log into the Berkeley campus application portal”.

As for UCSB, my son did receive an email in December from “UCSB Admissions Processing” which provided him with his Perm number. It also said this: "To log in to this admission status page, you will need to create a UCSB Admissions password. The application status website will open for password creation on January 7, 2014, so please do not attempt to create a password before that date. Once the portal opens, we encourage you to create your password before March to allow plenty of time before admission decisions are released.

To create a password, you will need either your UCSB perm number OR your UC Application ID number AND the quarter for which you applied (i.e. fall 2014). This information will be needed each time you log in throughout the year."

You can log onto the UC Admissions site to find your UC Application ID number: <a href=“UC Application - Message from the system”>UC Application - Message from the system;

My D applied to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI and UCSB. She received confirmation email from all UCs except Berkeley.

My S got emails from UCLA and UCI, but not UCSD or UCB yet.

Ok what you need to do is go to the website where you check your application status for each school. I know Santa Barbara and Berkeley’s are up, San Diego is does not appear open yet. You need your ID Number which is on the UC App. and you can make a password and login without getting any emails from the schools. I hope this helps.

My son got the UC Berkeley email yesterday afternoon.

I applied to UCB, LA, SD and Irvine. Got confirmation from LA and Irvine a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I received the confirmation from B. Never heard back from SD.

D finally got the confirmation email from Berkeley yesterday.

So confirmation email from these schools are received:
UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI and UCSB
