Is it detrimental to application chances if you’re not in NHS? I applied for junior year and didn’t get in (not enough volunteer hours). I have good scores and average grades, decent extracurriculars, and have since volunteered elsewhere. My concern is that it will look bad if I’m not in NHS because basically everyone is in it. Does NHS make a difference in college admissions?
No, it won’t make a material difference to your application.
The standards for membership into the NHS varies from school district to school district. It doesn’t carry as much weight as you think. Stay involved with any clubs or sports that you do. Show passion in something you care about. That what really matters.
Nope didn’t hurt son one bit. No one even mentioned it.
Ok, that’s a relief, thanks!
btw, will doing NHS boost ur admissions chances anyhow?
No, read the above posts.
None whatsoever. It’s a step above your perfect attendance medal.
I don’t have enough EC’s to fill up my UC/Common app slots.
Is it good to fill up these slots?
