Not-so-great GPA

Good essays and teacher recommendations (that really show you as a person) will help. Leadership, awards and accomplishments are also useful. If you can manage it, have your teacher rec's also touch on your ECs: one of my son's teacher rec's was from his english teacher and drama couch, the other was from his CS teacher and robotics club advisor.

One of the secrets to a good recommendation is to provide your instructors with your 'resume' of activities and awards. Even if they are not a club advisor, they may be aware of your activities - or can ask the advisor about them.

If your most significant EC's are outside of school, you may wish to obtain an additional recommendation from your volunteer supervisor, for example.

Oh, like additional recommendations from coaches etc., I see. I guess ECs would be very important.

Cornell's average GPA for accepted students is 3.6, so it's not too low at all.

Umm...where did you get that number Flippy?

Yeah, cause I can't find that info anywhere.

From what I've found:

Cornell evaluates enough of my GPA to make it 3.8 and . . .
3.6 is the average

am I mostly correct?

Oh, and does it make a difference if most all of your Bs are in APs?
