On my common app I listed a MV calc class that I said I was going to take 2nd semester at my local university. The university runs on a quarter system, so I've already taken the first quarter of the class last semester. However, due to my sport, I'm unable to continue taking the 2nd part of the class this winter quarter. Should I tell colleges that I am unable to take the class? If yes, how would I go about doing so? Will this negatively affect my application?

My S has a similar problem because the course listed on the Common APP is full. His was advised by the counselor to email all the schools where he currently has an active application. These schools simply emailed him indicating the request had been put in his file. His SECA school made it clear in his acceptance that any course change must be approved by the college. The approval was quick as he explained the dilemma in detail.
