Hi, I am in a similar situation as the topic poster. I’m a rising senior and in my school, there is no AP Physics B due to budget cuts, there is no AP Physics C, only regular.

Is it okay in terms of college admissions (I plan to go to either a UC, Cal Poly, University of Illinois, CMU, and other colleges) that I take regular physics or self-study AP Physics C?

Thanks!

My opinion:

If you are going into medicine and Bio has a great teacher, just take Bio and Apes. It will be better for your GPA and you’ll enjoy it more. I only took honors physics sophomore year and I honestly don’t remember any of it, and am going to a top 30 school to major in engineering. So. Wouldn’t worry about having the background knowledge. Missing physics may be a minor blip on your application, but taking numerous APs long and by far makes up for it.
