I am a junior Electrical Engineering student in Purdue. Also dual minors in Economics and Math.
GPA is 3.9+. Currently in the Co-Op program in Technicolor S.A.(formerly Thomson S.A.) to do some communication and network development. I will probably have some consulting work in the next work term. I have also done some consulting project in my first two years in college with local government and local law department. Also, I have done some research with my professors and appear as 3rd author in two papers about solar cells study.
I know that big management consulting firms almost only recruit graduates from target school like Ivy League or school like MIT. Can i first try to apply some relatively small consulting firms or IT consulting firms and then apply Top MBA. Then break into the big 4 consulting firms?
or What other career paths are better for me?
Thanks

If you have a 3.9 and relative work experience i think you shoud apply for the big 3 regardless if your school is a target school or not. Take a look at that site theres a story about some guy who got into an offer from Bain and his school was not a target.
