not that great but have high hopes =/

my dream school has been Cornell and will always be Cornell. sadly, i don't think i stand a chance. i'm new here so i was hoping if i could get any advice/chances. thanks!

sat : math-680

i know this really really low but my ACT composite is 31. which one should i send?

SAT IIs bio E= 660 math I=780 math II=760

apart from that i think my rank might hurt me =/
rank: 55/896 (Top 7%)

my ECs are pretty decent : i research at a lab (for a year now) have been a semifinalist for the New York Science & Engineering Fair, am the Editor for the school journal, have volunteered over 100 hours, am a non-varsity tennis player, i mentor kids, intern at the hospital, completed a environmental science internship etc.

considering i work hard on my essays, and have really good recs, do you think I stand a chance?
oh and i'm from NY applying for CALS.

your scores are within range

just write a mind-blowing essay and you’ll have a fighting chance :)

thanks. any other feedback…anyone?

pm me i have info that could be of use to you, as long as you aren’t applying to aem. I am also reaching for the stars at cornell, you have a better shot than you think ;)

I def think you have a chance. I’m a sophomore @ Cornell now. I had a 3.0 in high school unweighted, but @ a private college prep school. But I did a hell of a lot of extracurriculars. You name it I did it. And it seems like you have really pursued activities outside of school that relate you what you want to do with your life. So. I would say you have a good chance. I’m guessing you didn’t apply for ED, but neither did I. Actually Cornell wasn’t my first choice, but I didn’t get into Georgetown. I agree w/def454 I think you have a better shot than you think.

GOOD LUCK!

PS senior year gets ridiculously better after you finish applications.

Haha good luck, Cornell’s my dream too. Hope we’ll see each other there ;)

yeah it seems like i’m in the same boat as you. you do stand a chance.

I think you’ll have a better chance if you send your ACT score .

I would recommend sending your ACT score. Your SAT I scores are a little bit low.

I don’t feel that your class rank will hurt you; you are still in the top 10% and you have a huge class.

Keep the high hopes up- I think you do have a chance! Especially if you write a great essay. =]

thanks for the feedback guys…anyone else…?
