Nothing less than a C to transfer?

"An applicant for admission who has attended another college must have an overall average of at least C on all college work attempted and must either be a graduate of a standard junior college or furnish a certificate of honorable dismissal stating eligibility in all respects to enter the last college attended."

I got a C- in calculus which I know really hurts me, but does the above which was taken from Wake's transfer admissions page refere to you overall acumulative GPA of at least a C/2.0 in ALL of your courses combined, or are they saying that you cannot have anything below a C in your transcript to be considered? I know a C- is really bad, however the rest of my application is really strong, as well as my high school background and activities were also good. I never applied to Wake so it wasn't like I got rejected initially. I'm applying as a sophomore for the fall and I'm really stressed about this.

What is making me feel better is that they also say that "In all cases a student must have earned a grade of “C” or better in order to transfer a course (a “C-” is not transferable)." so I'm wondering that they wouldn't say this if you would be tossed out automatically.

Since the above says “overall average of at least a C on all college work” I would assume that one C- would not hurt you much and would not disqualify you from transferring into the school. Best of luck

No, you wouldn’t be not considered as a transfer student, but you would need to retake calculus again at Wake if it was required for the major.
