Notification of UFE

Yup…63 were at the weekend.

Well, there are 43 of us on the facebook group. 4 are current fellows meaning 39 on the group. I believe 5 or 6 haven’t heard but the rest have gotten good news which is making me sick to my stomach…I’m starting to figure out the odds and worry

I know you know this Rocket - but come tonight you should know one way or another, so try to keep positive :)

thanks. Right now I’m in a study hall, and it’s only first period…yikes…this day is not going to go quickly

My brain is making up scenarios and choices for either decision

Rocket…I sure hope you make it. I can’t imagine them not picking you. :)

To all those who may get “bad news”, don’t get down on yourself!

You are all amazing kids and we are all so proud of you!

^^^ i agree!!!

Reading the understandable anxiety in this thread reminds me of a quote by B.C. Forbes, founder of Forbes Magazine: “History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats.”

Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player ever, was cut from his varsity high school team as a sophomore. Instead of giving up after failing to make the team, Jordan used it to spur himself to greater achievements, practicing hour after hour on the court. “Whenever I was working out and got tired and figured I ought to stop, I’d close my eyes and see that list in the locker room without my name on it,” Jordan said, “and that usually got me going again.” He eventually made the team and led it to the state championship.

Every one of you in this competition is a winner. That’s how you got to this point in the first place. Never lose sight of that.

^^^

Very true!

And a note to anyone not selected in the final round. There’s nothing wrong with sending a follow-up email thanking for the opportunity to interview and mentioning that if some of the chosen students end up declining Bama, that you would like to be re-considered.

No mail today either…

I’m pretty sure it’ll be a no…everyone’s gotten either good news or no news…I think those of us with no news are destined for the “no” pile

Rocket…I don’t know what to say. I’m still hoping that your mail is slow.

Rocket, if it makes you feel better, D2 hasn’t heard a word from either the Fellows or CBHP.

Bikedad

But CBH did have one more interview late last week, as the student was unable to make it to finalist weekend, so it may take an extra few days before decisions come out – at least with CBH.

thanks mom2…i had another girl confirm that the 'no" letters went out later than the yeses…so, I’m really hoping for slow mail…but I"m assuming it’s a no
If there’s no mail tomorrow, then I’m pretty sure it’s a no

Ugh, I know everything happens for a reason…but still…i’m disapointed

another day without mail…it’s definitely a no then

^ wouldn’t say definite until you see either a yes or a no letter.
and I’m sure if it is no, it’s no consolation to you, but you are in good company… it doesn’t diminish at all any of the things you’ve done to get to this point.

thanks AL…i’m smarting a bit, and trying to evaluate alot of things as level headed as I can…

^ hear you - DS is doing the exact same here

I’m thinking Bama is off the table now…bummer…and I was just starting to really fall in love

rocket is bama off the table because you loved fellows?.. there isnt necessarily any more money coming even if you get fellows.

^I loved Fellows because it was small-I didn’t care about the money(it would have been nice)-and I like small schools…without Fellows Bama is an awful big place, and I don’t know how I feel about that
