I’d say

BC definitely in. Scores are in range and above and ECs are above average for them.

Notre Dame is iffy. Your whole app is pretty average for them, so it could go either way. I don’t think you’d be accepted early because that ultra competitive, but maybe a deferral then acceptance.

Cornell is also iffy but I’d say no from them. Just nothing that stands out. You definitely have a chance but not a shoo in.

I think you have chance to ND. You have to show your interest to ND.

thank you for all the input. How can I improve my application?

I don’t understand how it is iffy. I’m also going to put in the research I did through NC Summer Ventures and the fact that I have a provisional patent for a financial model. And also, I had a summer internship at a US Congressman’s District Office. Would these two activities make my application stand out or am I still missing out on something?

Plus, I had a quick question. Since the non-white population is very high at Notre Dame, doesn’t being an Asian Indian serve as an advantage or am I just thinking wrong? Also, isn’t Notre Dame easier to get into through REA. Am I wrong about this to?

My bad. I didn’t finish it correctly. I mena patent pending. I filed for a provisional patent after completing the summer research.

Meant*

Notre Dame is more conservative in the REA round, so it’s harder to get in REA than RD. That said, you’ve got a shot. Good luck!

@a20171 Do you have any sense of what the score range is like for BC CSOM? CSOM supposedly has a similar acceptance rate as the overall, reported rate for BC, but admission to CSOM has long been rumored to be substantially more difficult than admission to the other schools within BC.

@evergreen5 business is more difficult as it is at most schools but OP’s scores are well above BC’s overall range and ECs are very good too so I don’t see any reason why BC would be a reach. I’ve seen less qualified people accepted to carroll.

I mean they’re just my guesses based on what I’ve seen. I also know an Olympic athlete deferred from Notre Dame REA. EC’s are very good but so many applicants to Ivy league schools are going to have similar qualifications.

I’m not an admissions officer so I really don’t know what’s going to happen to your application, but I’m from a very “over-achieving” area and know many people who applied to these schools (me being one of them) and I’m just talking based off what I’ve seen. Your credentials are great; those were just my guesses. Good luck!

@ChanceMeChanceMe
My D is currently a freshman at Notre Dame Mendoza-We too are Asian Indians . I do feel that Notre Dame has always attempted to increase their diversity , thus I do feel that you stand a good chance of getting in .
I would like to advise you to concentrate on your essays and stay in constant touch with your admissions officer.
Best of luck!

BC you should get in for sure. ND I think you’ll get in but im not as certain. The GPA is a little suspect but the SAT should make up for it. Definitely demonstrate interest to your admissions counselor if ND is the school for you.

Just throwing it out there that the SE has the lowest percentage of students at ND (outside of international). Not exactly sure why that is. There are also some “feeder” schools from the midwest and northeast that always seem to get a disproportionate amount of acceptances (rightly or wrongly). I’m not saying it will be harder for you (North Carolina, right?) but something to think about.
