@ejcclc When you say decisions were “mailed” out do you know if it was through snail mail?
ND sent an email out to everyone who had applied EA. See post #13. When EA decisions are uploaded to the ND applicant status page, another email will be sent to the applicant telling them this was done and to check their Status Page. I’m sure a followup snail mail will be sent and recvd within 1-2 weeks thereafter.
@TXDad56 is correct. This year decisions will be sent via an online portal. This is the first year ND has notified applicants in this manner. Accepted applicants will then be sent the admissions packet via snail mail. In past years, it was only snail mail.

I got the portal login but was kind of confused because I heard the past students received acceptance letter through the mail and wasn’t sure if the portal is a new thing this year. I’m so nervous!! I hope results will start coming out today/tomorrow!!

Do you suppose if I didn’t get an email with log in information to a portal that I’m probably not even a consideration for acceptance? I haven’t received anything yet.
Did you apply before the EA date? Others found their email lost in their Inbox/Junk/Spam folder.
Just a warning to those whose anxiety level is already ratcheting up…I’ve been following ND admissions for more than 10 years and they always seem to be one of the last school’s to release decisions. I don’t know if the move to online decisions will change that this year, but it could still be a while…Good Luck Everyone!

I would like to join suzy100 as a parent wishing every applicant good luck! If you are lucky enough to be admitted I urge you to strongly consider joining the Notre Dame family. There is truly nothing like it.
I actually feel a little sorry for you all in that electronic notification means you may never know the thrill of going to the mailbox and seeing the large envelope and then opening it to see the unique, so very Notre Dame, greeting.
Those accepted REA to ND usually will have a wide variety of wonderful choices when the application results roll in. Many colleges will suffice for a great four year experience. But if you want a 40 year experience unlike any other, and to be pushed academically, physically, culturally and spiritually, consider this Notre Dame opportunity seriously. Go Irish!!
Several tweets by NDadmissions in the last 15 minutes re-stating that decisions will be released “mid-December” in response to questions… which leads me to believe that there certainly won’t be anything coming yet today, and perhaps not tomorrow either. I don’t understand why they can’t just set and communicate a firm date, e.g., like UChicago.
From their perspective, they would rather be vague then set a date only to miss it. I understand your impatience; I’ve had kids apply two out of the last three years. It is after the close of business in South Bend, so I wouldn’t expect anything today. Perhaps tomorrow, but remember, no one other than the person hitting send on those emails really knows, so hang in there!
I’m literally checking my email and their twitter 24/7. I’m so anxious right now.
last year a friend had tweeted her acceptance letter in the mail on December 11th, and it was dated December 10th…got my hopes up for them to be out today. hopefully soon
I was thinking the same thing ^^^ I figured that they would have decisions out earlier because it’s online and not snail mail. I’m so incredibly nervous especially because I don’t know when the scores are coming out
I highly doubt that they will release decisions this late at night. Hopefully tomorrow, though.
This past day or two, I have been reading up a lot on ND and 4 other colleges’ early action release dates. As many have said, the release of last year was on Dec 10-11. However, since this year’s break happens later combined with the fact that there is now an online system, I imagine they will be released more around the 15th. I still am praying for a decision tomorrow though.
Also, if anyone wants to find out soon, you can have your twitter app on your phone send you notifications when @NDAdmissions tweets. I believe they are supposed to tweet when decisions are posted. Good luck to everyone receiving a decision!!!
I have a feeling it will be on a Friday - that’s when UGA and William and Mary released their decisions online. So either tomorrow or next Friday. But Duke and University of Richmond released ED today, so I honestly have no idea. Extremely anxious!
Current Notre Dame student (Class of 2019) here, was in your guy’s shoes last year albeit not EA, but if you guys have any questions at all about Notre Dame shoot them my way I’d be happy to answer.
