Shannon, I’m sorry to hear about your rejection – but I’m hoping for good things for you for ND. Wherever you go, I’m sure you will be outrageously happy Good luck to you, and I hope we all get news soon!

Suzysmom…where else has your d applied ? she has amazing stats !!!

Augustwise96: she has applied to ND (first choice); also Cornell, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, University of Rochester, and Kenyon.

We know ND EA is very stat-driven, so once she made the 2310 on the SAT, she was pleased. Then 33 on ACT, 3.98 unweighted (4.3 weighted). And over 700 on three SAT II tests. We are hoping for the best. Plus her ECs are pretty interesting, especially that she sings with the Cleveland Orchestra. We have our fingers crossed!!!

PS…and thank you for the compliment! Hoping the best for you, too, Augustwise96. Is ND your first choice?

Any confirmation that decisions are going in the mail today? We are headed out of town on Sunday and was hoping my son would hear before then!

Mocha99: nothing yet. There has been some flurry of activity on the ND Admissions Twitter page, but nothing directly related to letters going out.

I would do this: if they go out after today, have him ask his school counselor to call for the answer once it’s been posted that they were mailed. Under the circumstances, admissions may be willing to give him/her an answer that he/she can pass on to your son Best of luck to you!

If they don’t come via mail before we leave town, we will just wait until we get back for him to open the mail. I would like for him to have the chance to find out the old fashioned way. He is pretty low-key about the whole thing and won’t mind waiting a few days, even though it will kill me…ND is and has always been one of his top picks, and it is a great fit for him. Good luck to all!

I think there’s a very good chance that letters will be sent today… hopefully all of the tweeting means that they have nothing else to do.

I was thinking the same thing!!!

My mail still hasn’t been delivered yet (I’m in Chicago area), so I’m still holding on to the very slim chances of receiving the letter today, but realistically we’re probably looking at tomorrow

Think Positive People !!! Tomorrow´s only a day away !!!

Admissions had a recording this AM saying they were closed until 10 am. Called afterwards and was told that letters had NOT yet been mailed but were expected to be mailed today or tomorrow via regular mail. Unfortunate delays due to issues with the common app.

Even if they mail it today people in Chicago shouldn’t expect to receive the mail Tom right?

This is a little frustrating. Virtually every school uses the Common App, and so had the same problems that Notre Dame says it did. Why were announcements for all those other schools not delayed? I really hope the letters go out today so that everyone (or almost everyone) will hear by the weekend. Not cool to have anxious teenagers have to wait until immediately before Christmas.

If they mail today, people in NW Indiana/SW Michigan and possibly Chicago could/should receive them tomorrow, with most people getting the letter by Saturday or Monday at the latest. There will always be those stragglers that arrive a few days later. Good luck!

I’m not gonna lie I’m getting a little anxious with this whole delay! I’m still hoping for the best but my nerves are starting to build.

ND’s one of my top choices and I have pretty good stats but I’m still afraid of not getting in. So for someone in the northeast, if they get out today I’m hoping to get them in by Saturday I would hate to have to wait all the way until Monday

Like most of you I am anxious to find out. But I think ND should wait until they are ready. Take the time they need to do it right. A big part of that is communicating a decision to ALL candidates in a consistent and quasi-simultaneous way.

Purdue has gotten a black eye ala Healthcare.gov by only releasing partial results on the EA promised date and then not being very good about communicating what was going on to the people left waiting. Then they said they would let any remaining EA applicants know before “end of the year.” Purdue blames it on the Common App. But there are some mighty disappointed and unhappy kids and parents who now have to apply to other schools just in case.

I know the suspense is just killing everyone but far better for ND to execute things right! Thank you to the Admissions Staff for the hard work and best of luck to all ND EA applicants!!

My daughter’s college counselor just called the school. Letters did go out today; in addition, some international students just received emails in the last 1/2 hour or so. I believe people will start hearing tomorrow.

SuzysMom, you’ve been posting in this thread the entire time so I’m 99% sure you’re not trolling us haha. I’m glad to know that the letters are finally sent! An international student also tweeted about receiving an email… Looks like they were sent!!!

LOL…no, I"m too old to ■■■■■ And an international student just posted to twitter that he got his email. I believe emails go out when the letters are sent (which is why traditionally, internationals hear about 24 hours before more “local” kids). And, whoever my daughter’s counselor spoke with said they had been mailed. So, short of everyone being in cahoots to drive us berserk, I think they’ve gone out Good luck to all :)
