I still haven’t heard anything. The suspense is killing me… Figuratively. Should I use the reference # I got when I applied and email them? I lost my password for my account so I’m not sure whether to wait or email admissions… Is it too soon to be worrying?

Hey y’all! We should start a facebook group or something. Just an idea!

Yes you should make a group

How do you complete the Online Confirmation Form?

Hi guys! I did this program last year, so if you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me! Some things I wish I knew last year:
- It is gonna be HOT (I’m from Seattle though haha), so when they recommend bringing a fan for your dorm, they are serious! There is no AC! Your dorms will probably be Pangborn (girls) and Sorin (guys).
- The clothing guidelines aren’t as strict as they make them seem. Just don’t dress overly slutty (ex. “Short”-shorts are okay).
- Bring your swim gear! There are two lakes and they aren’t all that clean, but two words: midnight swims! Ahhh so much fun! The best memories are the ones you’re not supposed to have… Shhh
- Nights get a lil chilly outdoors, maybe consider bringing a light sweater.
- Leave room in your luggage for all of the stuff they are gonna give you (a couple tshirts, cups, etc.) and the stuff you might buy (the bookstore is glorious).
- Fun stuff you get to do: bonfire, trip to Chicago, rollerblading, dance party, and more!
Congrats to all that got in, and have fun! Ps. To those that didn’t get in, the applicant pool to get into this program us a bit different than the one for undergrad colleges, so don’t sweat it if you didn’t get in. It is not a reflection of next year at all.

Could you elaborate on this a little? What are the differences that you see between the two applicant pools?

It sounds like you enjoyed your time at ND in this program. What did you like best about it? And where are you going to college next fall? Did ND convince to join them, lol?!

Hello!

I got accepted to the Global Issues seminar and I’m from Georgia.
I just remembered that I actually have an account on this site, so I’m getting on this thread quite late. Did anyone make a fb group yet? If so, link me the group pleaseee.

Hi, just wondering which seminar you went to/what the daily activities are like? I am attending the Pop Culture one :)

I’m attending pop culture too:)

FACEBOOK GROUP!
https://www.facebook.com/groups/166422000197851/

Hi, My son will also be attending. We are from New York as well and he will be flying out of Lga airport. Are you flying out?

Hey! I got accepted a while ago to Global Issues but only found this forum until now. I seem to be the only international student, at least here. I’m from Costa Rica, so I’ll be flying in from the 20th :).
I don’t think the heat will be too much for me since here it’s always hot, but I did wonder at the dress code. I mean, is it really that strict? Do bra straps count as visible undergarments?
I’m so excited! I didn’t know we had so many activities I though it was mostly talks with professors and stuff. Only 9 more days!

Just wondering, what were you’re statistics and extracurriculars in High School?

I am applying as well.

I wonder what ACT I need to apply. My GP A is good, not great 3.8 unweighted.

I go to a small catholic high school in Kansas.

@Anamrock @kansaskid1 I attended this summer. I had not yet taken the SAT when I applied and sent my PSAT, which was 216: 70 CR 69 M 77 W (NMS for my state). My GPA was 3.95 at the time, I believe. EC’s I have independent research, lots of volunteering, cashier job, rec basketball, and 2 or 3 clubs. I have never done debate or model UN, though many people at the seminar had. I had to express my passion for Global Issues through the essays, my strong suit. I am sure you can get in. Best of luck!

Is this program as prestigious as governor school?

I’m applying this year to the Summer Scholars Program. I’ve heard it’s competitive but I’m praying I get in!

Summer Scholars isn’t very competitive but the Leadership Seminars application process is pretty competitive.

I submitted my application today. I felt really good about my essays. My ACT is only a 25. If I get a better score in Feb I will send it. I am glad it is done.

Just submitted my application today. Reading about the people who got rejected, I’m feeling pretty nervous. Notre Dame is my first choice school and I would LOVE to go there. I am a homeschool student, but went to a private Catholic school for 9th grade and got a 3.96 GPA (top of my class). I applied to the Science and Ethics seminar as my first choice and have been taking science classes at a local community college since I was 15, getting As in two semesters of Introductory Physics and the first semester of College Chemistry. I’ve also taken several AP exams on my own, self-studying for and getting a 5 on AP Bio (9th grade), a 4 on AP Lit, and 5s on AP Euro and AP English Language (all 10th grade). That’s an AP Scholar with Honor Award and I’m taking three more AP exams this spring (APUSH, US gov, and chem). I’m also president of a community service group and have several ECs, including being a medalist in jiu-jitsu and teaching horseback riding lessons.

Unfortunately, I had only taken the PSAT and my score was a 203 (ONE misbubbled question away from a perfect 80 on CR! Lost 5 points because of that). Will my bad score (compared to 2200+ on the SAT for people who got rejected) affect my application? I also took the SAT Biology E exam and got a 780, I’m not white, and I’m Catholic, if that helps…

Do I have a chance?
