Hey all, just thought I would ask a question on here about the Notre Dame Summer Scholars program. I just got into the summer scholars program, and I was wondering who else was planning on attending. I was also hoping someone could tell me how much they think the experience would be hampered because of the distance learning. My last question is what is the acceptance rate for this program and if you got in what are the chances for you to get into Notre Dame.
Hi @Bilraz02 , I’m also attending the Notre Dame summer scholars program this year! I’m asking myself the same sort of questions, as in what is the experience going to be like since we are at home rather than in the university itself. I’m sure we’ll have to make the best out of this situation given that we won’t be in Notre Dame itself. I know for the leadership seminar the acceptance rate is only 9% (some people like myself got offered a spot in the summer scholars through the leadership seminar, I’m not sure about you) when the college acceptance rate is 19%. As for getting into the program, I’m positive that they will look at the fact that you got accepted into this in your favor, it can’t hurt in any way! I know that I couldn’t answer all of your questions but I hope this helps in some way.
Hey @RAD1402 , thanks for answering my questions. I heard that the acceptance rate for the Leadership Seminar program was low but I didn’t imagine it was 9%. Congratulations on your acceptance! I personally was accepted to the Summer Scholars program, which I just found out the acceptance rate to a couple days ago(26%). I also found out that in previous years, 50% of students matriculated to the university itself. I was wondering what program you were going to be in, I personally will be taking the course Confronting Poverty.
@Bilraz02 I’ll be doing debate and public speaking.
Good luck in your course!
Hey there
I attended last year’s Intro to Engineering program. Of the 300 participants, they told us less than 20% would be accepted. I think it’s just one of the spokes on the application wheel. It shows interest. Make sure to email you admissions counselor and let them know you are disappointed you won’t have a chance to Meet them. And keep in communication with them through the fall semester. You will also have a better chance of acceptance of you apply REA. But I think the biggest thing is your application is the essay. Everyone will have great scores and GPAs plus So many activities and service hours. Makes sure your essay talks about you. Shows who you are. It’s was the hardest thing I have ever
Done and I cried so many times. But I am excited to be admitted to ND this fall! Good luck!!
@Ez2020 congratulations on your admission into ND! It’s a great achievement. Thanks for all of the tips as well - I’ll certainly keep them in mind when I’m looking at universities next year.
