I am a male senior deciding between UVA and Notre Dame and am lost. I plan on majoring in business but I am still unsure. Academics and social life are both important to me. Any insight would be helpful
When you go back to your fav website to try to help a friend but he beat you to it
Pick Notre Dame
Best undergrad business in the country, beautiful campus, tons of fun sports
Tough call. You should visit both. Both schools are somewhat remote with beautiful campuses. Both have top notch academics.
What is the difference in cost? If there is a big difference, go with the cheaper option, as these are straight peer schools.
Are you catholic? If not, consider what it will be like going to ND as a non-catholic.
Are you okay with the cold, because South Bend gets pretty cold in the winter.
If you like football, ND is the easy choice, as football is a major focus of student life at ND.
These are all things you should consider, but mostly take the costs of attendance into consideration.
How can you turn down TD Jesus and Rudy - lol. Seriously, if you could afford it…ND!
I would recommend UVa because it has a slightly stronger business school (no matter what Business Week/Bloomberg says) and Charlottesville is a very nice city, as opposed to South Bend. That being said, McIntire is risky as you have to apply after Sophomore year and it is not guaranteed. Furthermore, Notre Dame is also excellent, and if you feel that you fit there better, you cannot go wrong going Irish either!
Are you interested in fraternities? UVa has them, and ND doesn’t.
It’s well past 5/1; I’m sure the OP has chosen already.
Businessweek/Bloomberg has Wharton at #7. I wish people would stop quoting that ranking. It’s not accurate.
