Notre Dame

how would you rate these or what ones would you want to go to in the following order

notre dame
wake forest
baylor
pepperdine
george washington
miami FL

by the way, will a year of college credit with a 3.57 gpa make up for having a 2.2 hs gpa if u have amazing extracurriculars and good recs?thanks

ND
Wake
Miami
Baylor
Pepperdine
GW

I had about those same stats and had no trouble transferring after one year. It helps if you've got good SAT scores so they see that it's the 2.2 that's the fluke and not the 3.57. ND is really tough to get into as a transfer, so don't expect to get in there.

where did u transfer to?

Boston College, but that was a while ago.

Those coleges are very, very different from each other. I mean, really different.

Notre Dame: Catholic to the max. Football to the max. Conservative. Pretty rural.

Wake Forest: Very preppy and very Southern. Conservative. Basketball is king. Pretty rural.

Baylor: Very Baptist with restrictions on personal life. Texas culture. Conservative. Pretty rural

Pepperdine: Home for the ultra rich. Rep for not welcoming anyone who doesn't talk about God a lot in a Protestant sort of way. California laid-back and on the beach. Conservative. Malibu.

GW: Very politically active and liberal. Very urban.

I mean, I can't imagine that someone with a strong Protestant lean would be all the comfortable at ND, or someone with a strong Catholic lean being all that comfortable at Baylor. It's not that they wouldn't get along, but it would definitely make you the "diverse" one.

true, but i was basing it more on the academic aspect...i can adapt to different settings

jayhawk:

My hat's off to you. There's no way I could adapt to all those settings.
