Chances of Transferring

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what my chances are of transferring into a couple different schools, most notably Notre Dame. I am currently a freshman at the College of William & Mary with a 3.5 GPA & some decent EC’s & I feel confident I can raise my GPA second semester. However I also have a “W” on my transcript because of an intro to religion teacher who was massively anti-Christianity, especially Catholicism. For instance she told me at a reception that she “thinks the Pope is extremely evil. I tried to give him a chance but he’s just evil,” right after giving the class a speech about how she attempts to be impartial and tolerant. Being a Catholic I decided not to bend my beliefs to write papers and answer questions on tests in ways which she would like anymore (we were halfway through the semester by now) and so I withdrew from the class (I hope this won’t hurt too much).

In high school I had:

1410 SAT
4.0 GPA (we didn’t rank)
Lots of EC’s
Eagle Scout
Attended a Jesuit Catholic High School

I was wondering if anyone could give me input on my chances of being accepted at any of these schools: (No particular order after Notre Dame)

Notre Dame
Georgetown (I’d apply to the College)
Boston College
Northwestern
WashU
UPenn
CWRU (Case)

Thank you very much for any help you can give me!!

I don't think that many of these schools will be a problem. With that coment I think that Georgetown will love you.

yea following up on the last post...if you turn that situation with your religion professor into an application essay for notre dame and make it a good one...that is HUGE for you. that could definitely set you apart from other applicants, especially since notre dame is highly religious. your stats are really good, i would try (as you said) to raise your gpa a bit this next semester which is entirely do-able. good luck and please keep us posted

go to the transfer page at nd.edu and look at the requirements regarding courses... if you've taken the proper courses and you bring your GPA up .1-.2 in the spring you should have a pretty good chance with a killer essay...
