Nov SAT Curve - A Little Ridiculous?

agreed with llpitch. That's just sad. If that had been me, I would've thrown my laptop across the room. lmao

OMG LOL. THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE...i swear,if i took the nov SAT1, i would've been so mad cuz in oct,i was so mad -1 780, -2 750. meh diff of 1 Q cost 30 points,i was so mad...
omg,lol i feel so bad for u guys who got -1 and a 690, cuz 40 pts diff,meh.....

You mean -1 and a 760, Ren.

On Math, I got 3 wrong, no omit, for a 740.

Oh guys, what are your PERCENTILEs? I got 660 on Writing (43 correct, 6 incorrect, no omit, essay 8). I thought my score is pretty low, yet the report indicates that my writing-percentile is 92%. Is this ridiculous? (or maybe b/c I got the international version of the test???)

This November test must've been ridiculously easy. Like...do in your sleep easy for -1 to be 760.

I think I know why CB is doing this: If you look at the 2008 seniors data, you'll see that WAYYY too many people got a 780, thus shifting the percentiles such that 780 became 99th. I think this is CB's way of spreading out the scores more.

On the March test -3 was 710

OK, summarizing the Nov. math curve data I have so far:

U.S.

54 800
53 760
52 740
51 730
50 ?
49 690

Intl.

54 800
53 780
52 760
51 740
50 720

the math was fairly easy but not drastically easier than October, which was -1=780

fig newton- I missed 4 and got a 690.

Most of the math was very easy. A couple of tricky ones, but still.

Seriously, though? -1=760. Gah.....

arach, i mean, -1 (760) and the 690, cuz both are 40 pts diff. that's very costly ;)

what's -5 in Cr, -5 Writing?

This is probably not as bad as the -1 is a 760 in Math but I am still very upset about it. I got a -7 in CR with no omits and got a 700 and and -6 with no omits is a 730. I still cannot believe it and am so disappointed because I could gotten a 2320 instead of a 2290 with it.

from that im assumin -5 in Cr is a 750?

Considering from the first and third post in this thread, -5 seems to be 740 because -3 with 2 omits is a 740 and -6 with no omits is a 730 so it should be a 740.

what about -5 with 12 essay?

-1=760?, either all the geniuses took the nov sat or an average fifth grader could've gotten 700+....

on the jun 08 sat i got 770 with -2

Hey when you guys say -5, are you saying missing 5 or -5 including the 0.25s taken off (in this case you really missed 4, then got another point taken off)

So for example, lets say I missed 7, omited none, for total of -9 off. What would that be?

still ****ed about the math curve...coulda had a 2350 if i paid more attention during the math sections -_-

@circum: I'm guessing that at least 3 out of the 4 wrong were multiple choice, which gives you a raw score of 54 - 4 - 0.25 * ( 3 or 4 ) = 49, for a scaled score of 690.

Did anyone here take the US Nov. SAT and score between 690 and 730?
