Nov SAT Curve - A Little Ridiculous?

So the score reports came out today. I got TWO math uestions wrong. TWO. As in, two probably stupid mistakes. Apparently, that was enough to merit a 740.

In CR, I got THREE wrong. that also deserves a 740.

Is this normal!?

Did you have any omits?

The math curve was ridiculously harsh: -1 was a 760. Unbelievable.

But are you sure -3 CR = 740? I had -6 CR, no omits, and 730. Something there doesn't add up.

haha, oops. no omits in math but i had two in CR. ahhhhh they must've been mistakes, I didn't intentionally omit any.

That sucks so much, -1 = 760. That literally means that there was no chance of getting a 790, 780, or 770.

Yeah, I totally second that. Esp. with 800 CR/760 M/800 W. .__________.

^ ouch man

Ouch. I got THREE questions wrong in Oct for math (no omits) and got just 10 pts below you--> 730.

seabear-Oh that sucks!

CR and M was a little ridiculous.
Writing however was pretty generous, missed 9 and 10 essay = 670.

Wow, so the math curve was:

54 800
53 760
52 740
51 730

If that's right, then Nov 2008 is the winner for toughest math curve (just beating out Mar 2008) since the SAT format change in 2005. Can others plz confirm this curve?

my friend got -1, 760 too

i got one stupid problem wrong on the math! i can't believe -1 is an automatic 760. ridicuulous

Math was -1 = 780.

@arachnotron: Hmmm, OK, sounds like we are talking about two different tests / curves.

maybe he's talking about 1 omit = 780....

wow....660 with nine wrong and a ten essay..

when i took the SAT in may, i also got nine wrong and had a ten essay and only got a 620.

For November 2008 SAT writing, I got 1 wrong, had two omits, and got a 740...
is that a rough curve? oh and the essay was a nine.

i couldnt believe the harshness of the math curve. I had one wrong also. i must admit though, i thought it was pretty easy.
^^Actually, i think one omit and one incorrect are the same.

i accidentally omitted one too in CR
-2 plus one omit = 790

**** man. if i had filled it in [darker?] or remembered to answer I might've had a 2400. of course, i could've gotten it wrong, but ****. that sucks.

will colleges also see number omitted/incorrect on the report?

-3 on math was a 720 for me

good god -9 in cr means 700.

I got minus 7, 1 omit in June and got a 670.

pretty shocking,

This just doesn't make sense to me. My daughter took the test 6/2008 Math score was 700. She missed 4 and omitted 2. Retook test in November missed 4 and did not omit any. Her score was 690. She answered 2 more questions correctly and got a lower score!
