Nov. SATII Chinese w/ Listening Scores

Well, scores are out. and I thought I wouldn't get 800, but I did!! Congrats to everybody with good scores. And maybe we can try and figure out curve? Cuase I know I totally thought I wouldn't, cuase I thought I got at least 2 wrong. So, how many did you gusy think you got wrong and what's your score? Congratulations once again!

cool... congrats!!

password, the chinese paper is so easy it would be almost impossible NOT to get a 800, especially if ure an ethnic Chinese

Yeah, I heard that 40% of the people who take it get 800

scandal-less, untrue. There are questions on the test that have ambiguous answers depending on the dialect of Chinese and the regional traditions.

yeap.... its pretty easy

just bc ure ethnic chinese and speak chinese at home does not mean youll get an 800. most of my friends' reading skills are not up to par with their verbal. password, congrats. im surprised i got an 800 too bc since i know such a large percentage get 800s compared to other SATs, i thought missing 1 or 2 would take me down from an 800.

The "listening" part definately took me some more effort to comprehend since the dialect used is far from the Taiwanese Mandarin I am used to. But still, if one has a working knowledge of pure written Mandarin (not local dialects), one should be able to obtai an 800.

Okay, yes I am a Chinese person who took the SATII Chinese, but don't hate me. I have a question, if I came to the US when I was 5 and took weekly chinese classes for 3 years, is 780 a bad score? What are the Ivys going to think?

it's not too bad i guess. just that a lot of people get 800

i got an 800 as well. it was so ridiculously simple, i finished the reading section in less than 20 minutes. probably because i came to the us when i was 12. 6 years of chinese education must count for something, right?

anyways, i didn't think there were an ambiguous answers, there was one listening question i wasn't quite sure, but i guess i got it right.

the weird thing, i was able to see my score on monday, but when i went back to see my score report today, it said that it's nt yet available!

ha ha i guess i am pretty much the only non-native speaker who took it. which is why my percentile is pathetic. actually it's just like ridiculously ridiculously low. umm yeah so i didn't get an 800.
