Have you called them?!

They're still reviewing my application...by the way I wasn't deferred

What are your credentials? SAT/ACT, class rank, GPA etc...

This has come up many times on this forum.

U-M can make timely decisions on two pools of students: the ones that are outstanding (the High Admits), and the ones that clearly aren't admissable (the Denies). Those decisions go out fast. It's that big pool in the middle that ends up waiting.

U-M wants to be cautious about overadmitting, so it's making decisions about that middle pool much more slowly. Deciding whether to take some or all of the students who are at the various levels of "Admit" is a call they can't make until they know more about all the apps they've received. This has always been U-M's approach, even when they used an SI instead of these new evaluation ratings. However, they had a big class last year--too big. They do not want a repeat. At the same time, the numbers are all over the place. Apps are way up this year. So there is loads of uncertainty, and students are having to wait longer than they (or U-M!) would like. It's a bummer and I'm sorry. So is the Admissions office, I know.

I got in after 17 weeks!!!

I was never deferred they just took an insane amount of time

Perhaps they read the two 20 page research papers I submitted with my application?

hahaha

did you seriously send 20-page reserch papers?

Good Job!!

yea don't worry about it...my app was received by them and confirmed around the same time....and i was just admitted into the school of engineering from out of state (nj) last week...soo just hang in there
