November 2008 SAT Critical Reading

I think that one was antithetical…

so if we had a lot of Cr sections, which was experimental

I put antithetical too…not parallel

Does anyone remember the question for “discriminating”?

does anyone know what the answer for “i am too much of a daddy’s girl” is?
is it that the book influecned her career choice?

hmm i remember putting discriminating because he was able to see the nuances…basically he was very observant…sorry i cant remember the question

sorry guys but it was archetypal not unique

Was that the one where it was something/nuanced?

“does anyone know what the answer for “i am too much of a daddy’s girl” is?
is it that the book influecned her career choice?”

I didn’t pick that choice, I picked the one that said the book held her back or limited her answer choice. That was a hard question.

Congrats DK - you really worked hard and your posts have helped a lot of CCers.

The person (a diplomat???) was NOTED for being DISCRIMINATING. DISCRIMINATING was triggered by NUANCE. LOL - 3rd straight test with nuance. NUANCE and complexity was an answer for the elephant passage.

Deleted so it doesn’t confuse - person above me cleared it up.

I need two more

i agree with geester. bc she had to find the courage to get rid of it, so it was holding her back somehow.

so when she laughed, that answer was relief?

Was there anyone who had experimental CR that remembers all the sections?

For the father’s daughter, I put the book held her captive. It was the only one that made sense.

does anyone know what the answer for “i am too much of a daddy’s girl” is?
is it that the book influecned her career choice?

Parallel/disparity is right IMO

It said something like…

Two families, one rich and one poor, lead _____ lives as their money went up and down in tandem, despite their economic ____.

It had to show a contrast.

highopes// i also put book held her captive and i think its right…

i thought this month’s reading sections were easier than the october ones

theres no way it was antithetical. antithetical/parallel (the first blank) referred to the HISTORY of their lives…not their economic status. The second blank asked about their economic status

misplaced/unsavory, which one was that?
