November 2008 SAT Math

7/16 is right

Mango, it was only even integers. Didn't it have to satisfy EVERY number?

So, it's 6, right? The person above said it was 11..... so I was scared.

Btw, isn't it 95 blocks not 94?

94 blocks, and the answer is 6 for the 100-110.

GetMeIn03... I strongly disagree. Draw a diagram and see where y=-x does or does not intersect.

500,000 for m/c, 5 teachers, 540 (18*30), -a-b, did we figure out all of the grid ins?

lol math section was a joke.

ok the last question in the last math section the answer is:
X+3

Oh, wait, they said 373 blocks? Ah, I thoguht it was 377 for some reason.
Since it was a fill-in, would it be an omit?

And, wouldn't hotsaucevc23 be correct? Did they say that a and b are different numbers? I put 6 not 11 though for that one.

^
They said it must work for all reals, or something like that, so it can only be even powers.

EDIT: Uh...this was a response to yummymango...who is now below me?!

i think that using different variables (a and b) implies that the numbers are distinct...thus, 6 is correct.

So... since my fill-in was wrong, is that an omit or a wrong?

If it's an omit, what's the score of 1 omit? =/

OK GUYS:
6 is the correct answer.
(a-b)^n=(b-a)^n works only if n are EVEN powers. For example, let a=2 and b=4. Then it would be (-2)^n=(2)^n, which is ONLY true when u have even powers. so 100,102,104,106,108,and110 are only even powers;thus the answer is 6.

who had two grid in math sections? math was definitely my experimental; i had 4 sections. i really hope the experimental was the second to last one, ahhhhhh im usually good at sat math but i just couldn't get a lot of the answers!

^Someone said that since they never said a and b are different... it could be 11...

Found an answer in my calculator:

39 for the square carpet inside the rectangle

darn i left one blank and got two wrong already....what would that be out of 800?

i go 120 - 9 = 111 for carpet question

for carpet question it is 120-89 (since you have to convert yard to feet before you solve the problem) =41

^Isn't it 39? 120-81 = 39. 3 yds. = 9 ft.
