November 2008 SAT Subject Test: Math Level 2

@lolilaughed, oh yeah. The question was like a+b= 10 ab = 20 or something
What is the sum of the recipricals of a and b

I got 1/2

"@ hipster-I got n greater than or equal to 9! somebody said the answer was n greater than or equal to 6! but I don't remember that as an answer choice."

I got greater or equal to 9!. I don't think greater than or equal to 6! was an answer. It was like..

A. Blah
B. greater or equal to 3!
C. greater or equal to 9!
D. Blah.
E.Blah

Anyone get the y-intercept of f(x+2)? I think I got (0,2) because don't you move the graph two units to the RIGHT? not UP?

The correct answer on the cone one is 1500.

Radius was 15 and height was 20.

If you mixed them up, you got 2000, if you forgot to divide by 3, you got 4500, if you botched both, you got 6000.

Yea, I meant the sum of x+y = 10 but the reciprocal was .5 * sorry.

Hmm, if 25 was the slant then what I posted should be correct.

hey Pynne dont worry man/woman?, the answer was 1500pi

wt was the f(4) problem?
can anyone state the problem?

@wis3ly, the answers were

A. x > or equal to 3!
B. x > or equal to 6!
C. x > or equal to 9!
D. Divisible by 9
E. Divisible by something

Looks like the cone question won't be solved until the scores come out. Oh wells! Wis3ly, there was a choice for n>=6. And also, it was (0,5), wis3ly. You move it 2 to the left if it is f(x+2)

Edit: We have A LOT of answrs to questions floating around. Compilation?

whoooa, the posts are all over the place! :<

I thought the triangle rotating one was about the XY side, in which case, it should be 1500pi.

hahaa bigweight, thanks! xD

Go back like 2 pages. We talked about it there; They gave you two points. find f(4) or something.

nope WANTIVY, the answer to f(x+2) was (0,4), i drew it with my pencil. LOL

Who got 1:8 as a ratio for the spheres?

^ Oh yes, for the curve that shifted left. The answer was definitely (0,4); I drew it with my pencil too.

Yes, I got 1:8 too r to 2r under cubed is r^3 & 8r^3 : 1/8

Moi aussi. :}

what about the one where it asked for the x value of the maximum from [-2,4]...almost put the max i found on my calc until i saw the value at -2 :)

There was also a problem about the inverse of f(x) being equal to g(x). Does anybody remember that problem?

I got teh answer as -2 btw because endpoints are critical #s as well.

also, what about the one one where f(f(x))=x...which x makes it true?

Answers I remember at the top of my head

1:8 ratio
1500
Period: 2pi?
(0,4) for F(x+2)
(2,2) for equilateral triangle
2x+ 4 or something like that for -1000 function question
Also for the (-2,4) it was 2.41 or something

Wasn't the answer for the maximum at x=2.39?
