November 2008 SAT Writing

The journalist answer was "in the attempt to make a story seem unbiased, a journalist will often write...."

I think the verb after journalist was come..

so it couldn't be journalist by itself..
it had to be either:
a journalist will come
journalists will come
journalists come

^lol I'm going to laugh if that's not the verb it was..

but anyways, I put journalists will..

it was "a journalist will often make" i'm positive

Whatever the verb, I'm sure it was "a journalist ___"

the verb was "want"
that eliminated all the "a journalist"

I got a journalist will blah blah.

^ Ditto

10 char

i put journalists..

Initially put journalists but then looked it over and put a journalist..
Fairly certain it was a journalist..

journalist will sometimes...

not come....but yes, will should be in front of sometimes.

sorry to ask a dump question

which one is experimental?
i think the second writing section was kind of wierd...

^ The one that had the passage about soap operas was the real one. The other was the experimental.

is there any official account about the experimental section?
i remember I had read something from cb for the text in the past

it should be
taught not only music theory but also composed symphonies.
b/c music theory and composed symphonies have to be parallel.
if you put not only taught music theory, but also composed symphonies.
taught music theory is not parallel with composed symphonies.

got that wrong then:(

siukityu211: Parallel structure would be, "not only [verb] [noun], but also [verb] [noun]."
What you have is, "[verb] not only [noun], but also [verb] [noun]."

i still cant figure out which part is experimental

have anyone had writing sections in a row for section 6 and section 7?

it's not only taught music theory/history, but also composed several concerts etc
and also, the journalist one was

"a journalist will often make things sound more reasonable then they are" or something like that

agree with cherrypicker

idk why the journalist one is such a big debate. i don't even remember it because i think i got it fairly easily.
