November 2009 CRITICAL READING Discussion

idk. i chose B i think…

Idk really. I’m not very good at this, but the passage 1 other definitely did say the monkeys were convincing themselves that they had a free will in his own way. Which is why I put A, It was a hard one.

does anyone remember the question about how it is hard to keep children away form TV?

what is the answer for the question about fifth, seventh, and ninth grade?

Can someone make a consolidated list of all the vocabulary words on the November SAT?
I would love to do so but i didn’t take the test so…

nadon^

the answer followed something along the lines of they have different life experiences

Oh here are some that I know for sure.

Altruism- selfless act one
Prescient- Mark Twain one
Uncorroborated/ephemeral- snowflakes one
Histrionics- twins tantrums

^Wow. According to the vocab list of PAST exams that i have, that’s a 4/426 hit already. Amazing. And there’ only 4 words shown so that is spectacular.

to shizzle,
i did the snowflake one wrong for sure. and i have some not sure. one is the Susan and Nathan one. Susan is the manager and Nathan is ( ) blabla competing retailer…

taciturn - reserved or uncommunicative in speech

Lol! I know fresh101. While I was driving there I was like… man… I bet altruism is gonna be on the test today. Then I saw and was like >.>

Dreamwharton- For that one I put trivialized/exasperated.

to reillytehman
could u please tell which one is the taciturn one? i kinda forgot it.

Taciturn was the guy w/ the long winded speech for his absence.

So we’ve got:

taciturn
altruism
uncorroborated/ephemeral
histrionics
prescient
maybe trivialized/exasperated?? confirm anyone?

Ha!^Now that’s a 6/426 hit. WOOHOO!

anyone put “esoteric thinker” for the short passage question about the man who was a recycler or something that was a french term.

cacciato - no, for that one, i got “creative recombiner.”

Another,
compilation…commemorated (got wrong haha)

is hubris one of the answers?

to jshapiro,
i got the same answer: compilation…commemorated…

Wow…I didn’t study any vocabulary and so far all the ones you have mentioned that are right were what I put as well. :open_mouth: I found the SAT very, very easy except for the last passages regarding fuel cell. That one was HARD.
