Ogdochindu and CrzyGmer789X2 : what did you think ? Hard or easy ?

I had Carribean/Creole, Physics, Farmhouse, & Lying

BTW I took the test in NJ as well

In general I found this CR section to be much easier than the October CR. The sentence completions killed me on that one along with a few controversial passage questions.

This test seemed to be much more straightforward.

i had the Caribbean culture passage

Can we talk about questions and make a consolidate list?

Brost- lol now I regret not taking this one.

-9 SC, -0 passage on Oct test -.-

Yes lets start discussing. I thought the passages were ALOT harder than october’s

Definitely 2 different tests…
BTW I tried to look at the test of the person in front of me and it was not the same but I thought they always do that because they know that some people will try to cheat…

I thought that mine (echolocation) was challenging. I was seriously having a mental breakdown during the echolocation passage. The college athlete and the calligraphy/artist one weren’t that bad though.

ok, the passage with the girl talking about her old house… the question which asked about her talking about parentheses around modern and her parents’ attitudes and whatnot, what was that?

i put generational something, but i really have no idea

Mine is the easy one.
And Let us dicuss some questions. I can not remember a lot of them.
short passage:
Passage about Caribbean Culture:
Government: motivated by commercial motives rather than cultural one
why talk about family and language? – To show a paradox set of attitudes
family: flexible and inclusive
language: tenacious and dynamic
a example of “cultural penetration”: idolization of Hollywood fimls by Japanese teenagers
short passage:
- Settlement: --to have an engagement
- Woman is characterized by what? —I choose modest expection.
- The passage is about what? --his goal
- Fuction like? – an advisor
Passage about new farmhouse:
Newer farmhouses: --are enhanced by attractive surrounding./ offer the view of countryside
the talk between “me” and father: part of ritual
parenthestical one : lack of irony or self-consciousness
final question(Number 15): They are both attentive to what the other think.
Passage about deception:
What do the author 1 and 2 do at the final paragraph of their passage? –-Make generalizations about the nature of lying?
Line 56-58 “ lying makes them habitualize to deception and their brain ”–I choose lying … the fuction of … I can not remeber it.
Compared to author1, author2’s tone is more…—Humorous, analytical …. I choose humorous, but I am not sure.
The attitude show in the ()about red light: nonchalant, indignation, forbearing…

@iamchris - yes

@boomroasted - I also put generational… but I wasn’t sure

I had this test.

i got all of your answers…besides humorous. i forgot my answer though, but im positive i crossed out humorous.

nonchalant is the answer there though, definately

I found the music one hard because it was.just boring to read :)

@liyixinhua
i put the same answer w/ “dynamic” in it; I forget the other word
I also put make generalizations
I omitted the tone one… really had no idea.
And for the attitude iI put nonchalant.

For the farmhouses, i was battling between that one and choice A… i put choice A, which was something about the view ???

^^ i put that the family was inclusive and flexible…

and i thought author 2’s tone was more judgmental

for attitude i put nonchalant

oh well, who knows

I put total lack of irony or something for the quotation question. I might be totally off base though.

boomroasted

For the parenthesis one, I put that they showed it was more genuine and literal at least that’s what I remember.

was the one for the new farmhouses that the rooms had windows to look at landscape?

oh and the lying question…i put that lying habitually messed up your selfconsciousness
