Should I even bother waiting for results if I skipped 15?.. assuming 80% of the others are right?

How generous is the curve going to be? How much to get 800?
And the earth and moon question: max. force right next to earth and zero force 1 unit dist. away from moon and 9 unit distances from earth. It was almost right next to the moon. Dunno the exact letter for the position.
And the square loop question, current will not be induced in III because there is no change in magnetic flux through the loop.
How did the rest of you do?

skipped 26 -__- And if I get like 5 4 wrong! I’ll get like 30 wrong and 45 right! Scaled score of about 700 --

Very bad time management!

I think I applied the right hand rule and found that. I hope III was wrong. What confused me was the fact that the wire was a square with sharp edges. That seemed to complicate things at first.

@ bookannelida
That’s 45/75 according to my calculations, which should be above average (you would score ~700). The curve might also be steeper this time. It depends what you’re going for.

According to the SAT blue book, 45 right and 0 skipped is a 700…

Yeah, I said III was false as well. I’d keep the 700, don’t fret.

sammoc, why would it be steeper? I thought this test required superhuman pacing and I am taking Physics C.

Sorry. I don’t know why I said that. I meant it would be easier.

I thought it was insane. When the proctor said there were fifteen minutes I thought there should have been 40 minutes left. Everything was math, formulas and tons of reading; there was very little quick theory stuff. I didn’t get to attempt 5-7 questions and I basically made educated guesses on about 12 of them.

I usually finished the practice tests with time to spare so that was weird. Then again, I didn’t sleep as much as I would have liked last night. It definitely did seem different.

Oh, I agree then. The curve will be easier, that’s for sure. We can only hope now

Similarly, my proctor called FIVE minutes, and I had 15 questions left – usually I have a few minutes left over in the practice tests.

This one was definitely abnormal.

is the raw score conversion in the princeton review book reliable? because i kno PR says 60+ is an 800 but sparknotes says 66+ is 800. and kaplan says 63+ is 800…

The official book says that 59+ is 800. Assuming none is wrong.

yeah…i just didnt think it would be that lenient.

It has to. It was much harder than the official book test.

i know! it was harder than sparknotes and PR too…oh god i hope i did good. or else im screwed.

December is the last date on which I can take any test. The scores are supposed to come out Nov. 22 and the late registration deadline for the December SAT is Nov. 20. Maybe I’ll register for chemistry and take physics again if my score turns out to be too bad. I really hate it when the tests change this much. I have no idea what the curve will be.

I felt the same way! In all my practice tests I finished ahead of time. But when I took the physics this morning i was way behind!

Timing was terrible imo, glad to see you guys thought so too. I never ever am pressed for time on any test (even the ACT), but I barely got through this test. I omitted 8, because I haven’t had any study in electricity or magnetism so I only had a limited understanding of those topics. Hoping I got at least 55 right, with 12 wrong and 8 omitted, so a raw 52 (then again, I shouldn’t have gotten 12 wrong). I really just want something in the 700s.

okay im glad im on the same boat with some ppl. it makes me feel slightly better.
