I only had 1 omit on math section, which is very bizarre, because I didn’t attempt the last 2 grid-ins and I missed another grid-in. Also, only -1 on CR, which I’m stunned with because I’m certain I was far off on 2. Is it possible CB omitted some questions?
Let’s find out the curves: -5 math=730, -5 writing (9 essay)=710, -1=800 cr
@ambitionsquared did you omit some math questions instead of straight up missing them? -5 was 700 for me.
-3 is a 750 in CR. 10 on essay and -1 is still an 800
-1 on CR is 800. -3 on W with an essay score of 9 is 720. -7 on M is 670
@Studious99 I missed 3 and omitted 1.
-1 on the math was an 800 which is different for once
-2 mc -2 grid in, which is same as omit, is a 730 for math
-6 on critical reading is a 710
-1 10 essay for writing is a 800
was the critical reading curve kinder this time, or the pretty typical?
@kproth99 I say write on as many lines as you can without getting long winded (I personally wrote until the very last line), prepare many global (works for everything) examples beforehand (write all about your examples on a piece of paper and study it, including literally right before the test; I had about 7 examples prepared), aim for 4 paragraphs with 2 well developed examples (3 is okay too but make sure it’s quality; you only have 25 minutes after all), remember to have a clear thesis and position in your intro (2-3 sentences), aim to have a clincher in your conclusion (what’s your point/moral you can take out of these examples, etc.; 2-3 sentences). Practice a few timed essays as well. That should get you a 12 if you do it right.
I personally got a 10 so take everything I say with a grain of salt. However, the only reason I got a 10 is because my second example was super weak since I couldn’t think of another really nice example (well, that’s my theory at least). Also some other tips I think are helpful: try to begin writing after 1 minute of outlining and brainstorming. Take your extra 2-3 minutes at the end to proofread! Make sure you’re using your WORKING vocabulary, not random big words that you are prone to use incorrectly and awkwardly. Good luck, you’ll do amazing next time :)!
@waterfalls00 It was brutal. -2 was a 790, SAT college panda calculator says that has a 9% chance of occurring (and 91% chance of 800). I feel like harsh CR curves are becoming a trend between the November test and October test. I have never felt so lucky in my life to have done well on an SAT section lol.
@ambitionsquared yeah my usually 750+ score in CR became a 720. Here’s to hoping the December test is more forgiving!
The test I took before November got 720 CR, before that 800, 720, 800, 800, 800.
Real test got 800 CR
Oh dear god, how did u do that? Any tips?
I heard from my friends that this test was one reused from a 2010 may exam? Is that true?
@tiffanyvancamp Nope. I took every SAT on cracksat and didn’t recognize this November SAT.
2070
620 cr
770 math
680 writing 9e
Expected over 2100.
Spent 3 summers of sat. Took ACT blind and got 33.
Glad its all over.
Could you guys please report your number of mistakes so that i can calculate the curve for CR and W?
I’m an intl. who gave the Dec SAT. Seems the Nov’15 US SAT was reused…
@derpro
Ok. I got a 2340. (No omits)
CR 2 Wrong 790
M 3 Wrong 750
W 0 Wrong 10 Essay 800
@dsi411 thats amazing haha. How many no errors did you have on the writing? and do you remember any of the passage improvement questions? thanks
