November SAT scores!

I called up the admission office and they showed their incompetence, again. So i’m turning to you guys. I took a SAT II in Nov. and want to get it there before the early decision process ends. But the scores won’t be available by the 21st and I wont be able to rush the scores until then. The admission office said that if I don’t get my stuff in on time they’ll just mark my app incomplete and just defer me. What should I do?

That seems wrong. Doesn't Penn say they take Nov. scores for ED as long as they are rushed. Find someone else in admissions who knows what they are talking about. My advice is to call your regional rep directly.

my regional rep is NEVER, I repeat NEVER in her office! she's always at a meeting or on the road. I tried to ask them when will the decision be made so i can roughly get an idea of how much time i have to get the scores over. The answer they gave me was, "the decision will be out by the 14th so you do the math." ***, I know they are tired but come on!

Really? That's just awful. Call and ask for his/her email.

Here is a direct quote from the Penn website regarding November SATs:

Timing

Early Decision candidates should take these examinations either during the junior year or in the summer before the senior year, but no later than November 2005. Early Decision candidates who opt for November examinations must rush their test scores to us.

Yes, but does it really work that way in practice, would be my main concern. If I were you I would actually have a parent or guidance counselor call - and say that you already called and this is what you were told. They can't be so rude to an adult - and you already did call and were given the run around. If the person taking the phone calls has no clue, ask to give your message to the regional rep, one of the other reps or even the head of admissions and ask for a call back. There is no reason that you should have been given the info you were - according to Penn's own website, it is against their policy, and you have every right to follow up and make sure you are not deferred for that reason. They should be polite but persistent.

Oh, and always ask for their names, they can't be so rude, then.
