Now that you're in, how are you going to pay for it?

The rich get richer, and the poor have babies. If we are going to tax more, that’s fine, just use it wisely. Not everybody who actually needs money to attend college is granted it. There isn’t enough for everyone who seeks post high school education. We have a serious issue in this country in that regard.

hooray you type faster. imaginary nickel for you…but you have to give 30 percent of it to a Mexican.

yea, I’m vulgur. it’s the interwebz, who cares. lol

Give it to me Nick, NAO.

…haha.

I’m really laughing.

do you guys know how to appeal the fin. aid award? I got 15k or so in grants from Cal, but I wonder if there is a way to push for more… My EFC is 0 and I in fact don’t even have a family in U.S. Any suggestions?

You can do a budget appeal to increase your cost of attendance, but after the 15K in grants they may only have loans to offer you to make up the difference.

I’m turning down a free place to stay in all by myself, $15k in gift aid, and $2.5k work study at UCR to go to my dream school (UCD) that only offered me $5.5k in gift aid and $5.5k in loans.

Work, here I come.

break the piggy bank

All this huff-puff-I’ll-blow-your-house-down is the result of some ■■■■■■ who thinks being Mexican means they got more financial aid.

C’moooooonnnnn.

BoryaF-I mentioned that I am Mexican. I never said my family immigranted here illegally, you are just assuming that. I actually come from an educated family but I am also independent, that is most likely the reason I have received some great offers. But it helps to be Mexican with competitive stats.

BoryaF- BTW, go hang out with Lou Dobbs, I’m sure you guys will get along just fine…

pure loans =[

waitingonSC,
As a fellow Mexican, I’m going to say one thing.

s h u t t h e f u c k u p.

Grey_Syntactics, you took the words out of my mouth! LOL

I had this post in my head and was scrolling to the bottom, ready to pitch in my two cents until I read yours.

^^^ Haha. I was pretty drunk last night after the “cinco de Mayo” festivities. I was having a good time instigating. I can really careless…

I never said you were an illegal. Looks like you are the one making all the assumptions.

what’s the average amount that people take out on loans?

i won’t be receiving any financial aid

anyone who uses loans or went to simpletuition.com or just has any knowledge about this

what’s the difference between a stafford loan and a private loan?

The Federal Stafford Loan Program consists of low-interest subsidized and unsubsidized loans financed by participating banks and other lending institutions. Loans are available to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. The interest rate is fixed at 6.0% for Undergraduate Stafford loans borrowed on/after July 1, 2008 and%

is it wise to take $50000 in loans to pay off for college, assuming i take around 20-25,000 for each year?

wow i had a long post that was completely deleted, weirdddd.

[UCLA Financial Aid Office !](http://www.fao.ucla.edu/fao_information_types.htm)

That has everything you need to know about loans, not sure if you are going to UCLA or not but it doesn’t really matter as the info. is the same for all.

You are going to have to have incredible credit to get a loan for $50000 right now, it might be an okay thing to do but remember that interest can be a pain and finding a low interest loan right now is not going to be easy either.

do you happen to know if cal grant b is merit based or income based?
