Now What??

Hey! I am starting this thread because I am curious to see how far along in the "process" everyone is. I was accepted ED, and I was wondering what I should do now? I haven't seen anything from the school, have you guys? Also, what dorms are the best to live in (esp. for an athlete)?

You probably won’t hear from the school for a little while now, since they’re in the process of regular decisions. Then, they have to wait to see how many people accept their offers of admission, who’s getting in off the waitlist, etc. So don’t worry too much! Relax and enjoy the rest of your senior year. I’d imagine the school will e-mail you with any updates, so just check your e-mail regularly and you should be fine.

For athletes, the best dorms are probably in the Quad, as these residence halls are closest to the sports center. There’s more information here: [Residence Halls | Wellesley College](Residence Halls | Wellesley College)

Depends what sport. If you’re a golfer, the east side is better. If you’re a rower, you tend to stick to Tower. And a lot of others are in the Quad. It varies year to year though, and you’re assigned first year so you have no choice anyways. After first year, you’ll find that a lot of friends try to live in the same dorm so you’ll see a lot of teams, clubs, and other groups of people all living near each other.

My D is currently a first-year athlete (lax) and they housed she and her chosen roommate/teammate in a dorm on the complete opposite side of campus from the athletic center. I expected since they were both on the team, they would consider that - nope!

If they gave special accommodations to everyone, nobody would be housed. You have three years to enter the housing lottery and rank where you want to live, and if you really don’t like your first year arrangements, you can enter the lottery to move spring semester. It’s really not a big deal.
