I had this all planned out. Each month, rigorous study of the SAT/ACT, a total of three or for takes of each, everything was so crystal cut. And now I get a 36 on my first try and all of my bright plans are in pieces

In all honesty, I'm curious as to what I do with this new flashy 36 I have? Are there any notable Perfect ACT scholarships out there? I'm a junior, so I'm planning to retake my Math II (currently a 780) next November (along with Chinese) and US/World next month. Should I jump the gun and start applying to non-institutional scholarships? I've still got PSAT scores and a potential NMSF coming up next year, so I would still spend some time on SAT studying. Blegh. So confused.

Also, should I sit for the SAT? (still haven’t) My dad thinks so, even after reading the ATD column right here. Opinions.

Such a dilemma you’ve got here. Lol, congrats.

I’d take the SAT if it’s necessary for NMSF (not sure about this, since I took it anyway) or if you really really want to have more testing fun, or, like, throw in a 2400 with your apps just for kicks. Yeah, apply to scholarships and stuff. Idk what advice to give you about that, but yeah.

If I were you, I’d just be really happy and proud of myself and have some fun. Get good grades. Don’t stress yourself out. In my experience, getting better-than-expected test scores has only raised my stress level, because it’s raised my idea of my “potential” and what schools I should apply to. But it really doesn’t need to. Just focus on having a great high school experience. Get involved and find what you really love, and everything will work out.

Relax. You don’t need anything else, but a couple of SAT II’s. I wish I was in that position as a junior haha.
