Hate my ACT scores? advice on bringing it up? so discouraged.

So, I am going to be a junior and have taken a lot of practice test..so far I've been getting around the 22-24 range :/ and this sucks because I'm not good at these type of tests and the rest of my college application will be excellent, but this will ruin it. I don't know if this is possible..but if I take enough ACT tests, anyway to get a 24 up to a 34+? i just feel so stupid, and feel so discouraged. Then again I haven't had to math knowledge to do most of the Algebra 2/Trig for the math. I doubt I can get a 34+ anyways.
I need advice :( everyone on here gets 30+ and I just feel so stupid.

Have you taken the PSAT or SAT yet? For some people, the SAT is a very different experience from the ACT, so maybe you’ll be able to score much higher on the SAT.

Read through some ACT prep books. The test is really big on testing what you know. I would put effort into understanding the concepts on the test. Then you can start actually practicing the actual test-taking process (timing, making educated guesses, etc.), which is a skill in itself.

Colleges look at more thing that just grades when you are admitted. RELAX

I know they do, but I need a really good ACT score to get a full ride at my top choice, if i don’t get a full ride I can’t go because my family doesn’t have a lot of money.

I recieved a 25 my first time, then a 26. Then, I got a 30. No studying really, no tutors. (not saying you shouldn’t study, i should have) but a lot of the time it is about getting used to the test

How’s your SAT?

One of my friends got a 28 on her ACT but she ended up getting 2200 on the SAT. The test all depends on the individual: some find the ACT more “easier” than the SAT and vice-versa. Have you given the SAT a try?

If you still want to stick with ACT, I’d recommend just practice, practice, practice. Try taking the entire exam in one sitting, as it’ll get you more accustomed to the test environment. Also, which areas are you struggling on the most? English? Math? Reading? Science?

Give this article a try when thinking about how to study: [Test Prep – How to Prepare For the ACT and SAT?- Nerld Blog](http://www.nerld.com/blog/2011/07/08/how-to-prepare-for-the-act-and-sat/)

wow thanks guys! & no I haven’t taken the SAT… but i did take the PSAT and that didn’t go good at all  my teacher recommended to take the ACT because she said it is easier and more people do well. I have taken some SAT practice questions and wasn’t really feeling it. English I’m pretty good with, I AM SO BAD AT THE MATH SECTION… got like a 17 first try  wasn’t good at all, Reading fairly decent as well, haven’t tried science yet so who knows.
