Does anyone know how many colleges you put on a NROTC scholarship application. I've been told both 3 and 5. Thanks in advance.

Last year NROTC required three colleges. This year they are requiring five colleges. One of those colleges needs to be a state university/college.

I entered 5 last year. I was told that they really only look at the top three, one of which has to be a state school, like GA said.

Does it matter where I put my state college in order of ranking? Also, does it matter if it's an out of state state school. Ex: I live in tennessee, Ohio state uiversity.

Order of ranking or location of the state school doesn't matter.

Just make sure that you are fairly sure that you know where you want to go before you submit your application. I know at Notre Dame there were a lot of people who put other schools first before they decided to go to ND, and now they are assigned to units at other schools and are unable to get their scholarships transferred because all the spots were taken up.

Do you know how quickly spots tend to fill up?

It really depends on the school. With Notre Dame if you don't get picked up from the first board, then you probably wont get a scholarship spot. Call the NROTC offices of the schools you are interested in and they should be able to tell you.
