On the NROTC Marine Option Scholarship application I am instructed to List 5 schools that I am applying to, it also says that applications will not be reviewed without listing 5 schools, What should I do if I am only applying to 3 Colleges?

Only a guess here but the five minimum probably is so that they can reasonably expect you to be admitted to at least one. Since it’s their policy, you better shoot off two more apps. Not the time to start asking them to bend rules, dontcha think?

You said it yourself: your application won’t be considered. Obey or accept the consequences.

Or at least inquire to explain your consequences (if you have anything extenuating)

If the Navy awards you a NROTC scholarship they will choose one of the 5 colleges that are on your list. They mean it when they say list 5. It is NOT an option if you want your application processed.

If you choose you can apply to only 3 of those colleges. Your choice. However if you choose to apply to only 3 and the Navy assigns you to one of the other two that you didn’t apply to, then you’re going to have to attempt to get your NROTC scholarship transferred to one of the three that you applied (and hopefully were accepted). No guarantees that the Navy will approve the transfer or that there is enough room in the units at the 3 colleges that you want to attend. Good luck.
