Is the National Society of Collegiate Scholars a legit organization?
If so, is anyone in here part of it? What does being a member consist of?

you have to shave your head and touch the bottom of the deepend

Sounds like a scam to me. They want $75, and they dont meet weekly on my campus or have an informational.

I got invited to a more legit sounding honor society, "Sigma lambda" that actually meets, does service projects, has socials, etc.

It actually is a legitimate society. They meet regularly on our campus.

It is not worth joining, though, in my opinion.

I guess this must be NSCS recruiting week or something because it's certainly NSCS posting week. My parents decided it was a good idea and made me join, but I've never been an active member or anything. Apparently they have weekly meetings and such and they're always sending me emails about scholarships and internships and whatnot. It's a legit organization in the sense that they're not going to charge you a fee and then not actually do anything, but I'm not sure I see a whole lot of purpose in joining unless it specifically interests you and you're going to go to the meetings and actually go on their alternative spring break, and everything.
