<p>I’m an alternate for Russia this summer. does anyone know stats on alternates? or has anyone been an alternate in the past?</p>

<p>So, I was accepted for Korea Semester. Kind of frustrated that it starts in late June and eats up the entire summer as well. :/</p>
<p>Questions: Is everyone else’s reply date really soon? 4/7?
Do other term programs include the summer in addition to the fall?
Is anyone doing this as a gap year or participated in the past as part of a gap year?</p>

<p>a friend of mine on the Russia program last summer was an alternate but gained a spot off the list - so have hope.</p>

<p>Hopefully we will find out at least by this Friday! So far it seems like they have only notified summer people and a few year people. I applied for a semester Arabic (1) Chinese (2) and Russia (3). I havn’t heard of anyone that applied for a semester getting word back yet though so I guess more waiting…so what did u apply for neoncookiegirl17?</p>
<p>I applied for China year (1), China any (2) and Russia any (3). What duration times did you pick? It seems like the waiting is endless. I really hope we hear back soon. :)</p>
<p>I’m hoping that since my first choice was for a year, I have a better chance of getting accepted since not as many people apply for full year ones.</p>
<p>All 3 of my choices I put as fall semesters…But yeah ur probably right about the year thing. It seems to me like the summer ones are the most competetive…Anyways I really hope you end up getting want you want! I will post as soon as I find out:) Lets just hope tuesday brings us both good news!</p>
<p>So no news yet, sadly. But I am really hoping I will hear soon! Next week I have Spring Break and I am afraid if I don’t hear by then, I will be wired to my computer all week. But I really hope you get what you want too. :)</p>

<p>Hey:) I’m in the same boat with you guys!.. I applied for the Arabic year-long duration as my first choice, Russian year-long as my second, and any year duration program as my third.</p>

<p>polkadots93 - did the person you know hear back about an Arabic program? I haven’t heard any news from anyone yet on any of the Arabic programs (summer, semester, year).</p>
<p>No, the person I know found out he got into the summer Turkey program with NSLIY so… I hope that helps…if that’s the case about Arabic, then there is still a good chance of people getting in!!</p>
