Hello! I recently became an NSLI-Y semi-finalist for an academic year to learn Chinese or Hindi, and I wonder if anyone out there has any tips for the interview process? I’ve definitely been looking all over the Internet and would like to add to the list of skills and techniques I’ve found. Any suggestions?

Think about this - why should the U.S. State Department invest taxpayer money so that YOU can go study Chinese or Hindi for a year?

it’s a little dead right now considering all the nerves regarding upcoming interviews (yikes mine is on the first of January >…<) but I’m sure it’ll liven up after a few people have theirs. Hope to see you there !
