NU ED responses yet anyone?

hey guys

i know its early and we still have two weeks to go but friends of mine have been getting ED responses from other universities already and i was wondering if anyone heard back from NU yet?

if not do you know how early they can get it to the applicants? ive heard ppl getting it on the 12th of december

Nope...
However, yesterday my friend pulled a prank on me saying he got in.
I freaked out a bit...

Anyway,
I believe people found out on December 11th last year.

I know of someone who got a snail mail letter that arrived on the 10th last year... I'm assuming she was basically a definite candidate though. I think they're probably going through the fence-sitters this week/ reviewing most of the admission decisions?

I could be wrong though...

I think I read some where that debaters and athletes got a decision on the 10th...
Don't quote me though xD

Yeah, this week they're probably going to just double check everything and start packaging stuff for those fortunate enough to be accepted...

D;

I'm so nervous, but I'm also glad the wait is almost over...

^^"those fortunate enough to be accepted..."

I seriously am hoping I'm one of them :), but that paralyzing self-doubt is following me around currently.

She may have been a debator? I'm not sure, but I know she was an econ major... I kind of wish I had wanted to play soccer in college, may have uped my chances. I could bench-sit for NU lol.

Me too...
I'm trying to keep my expectations low, though >.>;;
11 days
Ack
I really just want this wait to be over. That way I can either rejoice or cry and move on.
I know last year, my friend got waitlisted RD and I swear he didn't move from his bed for two weeks xD
And he only started to function again once he found out he got into Cornell >.>;;

I wish I were more athletic...

I'm being a massive pessimist and not expecting to get in at all. :/

lol, sometimes I wish I wasn't... Cost me stress, knee surgeries and then some points off my GPA for being out/ not able to take more APs.

Where else are you applying RD, if you don't mind me asking?

Is it an e-mail or a letter in the mail?

Indeed.
Great expectations lead to great disappointments T_T
I'm applying to : Loyola, Augustana, University of Illinois-Champaign, UW madison, Brown, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Emory, Tufts, NYU

@laily: It's both.

Were we ever given logins for a website where we could check our application status for Northwestern? If so, I never made one/received one...

No, not yet I believe.

Their applicant services page was up about this time last year but for some reason, not this year.

I've been counting down the days till Dec.. Now just one more week until we find out. The anticipation is killing me.

I hope it comes out earlier this year. The more time to do my other apps if im rejected heh.

I'm a parent of a student admitted ED last year. If I remember correctly, we received a login number that may have been her application number (?). There was an Applicant Services page that she was able to access using that number to check to see if her application was complete. Sometime around early December that page had a noticable change. The page said that decisions were to come out on or around December 15. Someone on College Confidential, however, got wind that the decision would be sooner -- December 11th I believe. The CC poster's information was accurate (they even had the correct time the decision would come out) and on December 11, we spent an agonizing hour refreshing that Applicant Services page until the decision finally flashed up (around 6:30 pm EST if I remember correctly). Last year there were no deferrals -- just admit or reject. When she checked her e-mail later that night, she saw she had also received an e-mail telling her to check the Applicant Services page. A day or two later we got the decision via snail mail. Hope this helps! Good luck! She LOVES it! A GREAT school!

AHHHHHH.

Do you guys know what happens to the people who sent paper applications? Do we still get to check our decision online?

If not, when can I expect the letter?

This needs to happen NOW...

Thanks so much for your help! I haven't received any word from NU about an applicant services page; they e-mailed me to tell me that they would e-mail me if anything was missing, but they didn't provide me with a login to a certain site or anything of that sort. Has anyone gotten information about an applicant services page or are they just operating differently this year?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe logins are supposed to be sent via email on or after December 1st. If there are letters sent containing the logins (which I'm assuming there are?) they should arrive after the email/ sometime this week.

sainclaire- I'm with you... To a point. I'm stuck in that struggle of wanting to know, but also not wanting to kno- if rejected! Oh well... Time doesn't care about what I think. lol

this year NU doesn't have Application Service...
you cannnot even find an access on its website..
i didn't get any logins
but i got an emial notifying me that my application file was completed, all i gotta do is just waiting...

i'm so anxious.........
the sooner the decision comes out, the better...
frankly i don't want to do RD..

If you look at the emails NU has sent.. they are mostly sent out in the 6:00 - 8:00 pm EST range. Since tomorrow is the beginning of the business week and Dec 1st, I would expect emails for logins to be sent during that time period tomorrow when they're servers are working. That's just my prediction.

this confused me a bit...
Two of my friends from my school applied by Nov. 1st (NOT ED)...they both got in and found out monday, nov. 24th...i Have nooooo idea why- but its a true fact and im thinking that i should have applied that early...

To NU? I know some other colleges and rolling admission schools do that but Northwestern?
