Does anyone know about what dictates admission via the 'in" program?
D was accepted to the 'in" program and she says that "the last 400" to be accepted are accepted to this first-semester-abroad program because they don't have enough housing in Boston. is this true?

As much as we like the idea of a semester abroad, we aren't excited about it being the first semester.

If you do a search on this forum, you find a lot of posts including posts from parents and students who have participated in this program. The bottom line is that the “last 400 to be accepted” is not a factual statement. The school does have to balance numbers both in residence halls and in classrooms due to large coop component at NEU. Some stats of admitted regular fall semester may be lower or higher than those in the NUin program. Some majors are more competative etc. Read the posts from parents, attend the information/welcome days for NUin if able . There are also You Tube posts from every NUin sites, just search on You tube 'NUin greece" or which ever site your D’s major attends. Then make a decision that best meets your D and your families needs. I will try to bump a recent discussion for you.

Thank you and thanks for bumping the otherthread, very helpful!
I’m goingto check it out now.
