Is it possible at all for the freshman NUin students to get a suite style room when they come back from the fall semester abroad? I feel like they would give those type of rooms to the fall semester students since they are there first. Thanks!
People on campus in Fall don’t move. NU.in students often get upperclassmen housing options because spaces open up from people going on co-op or graduating, which ends up being empty beds in upperclassmen housing. Few to no beds open up from Fall to Spring of freshman dorms. So the answer to your question is yes, but not guaranteed of course.
Most freshman dorms are traditional style - doubles with hall baths. In the past, they have tried to put NUin students together when they return (one year they all got rooms in the brand new East Village.) Don’t know what will happen next year, but the odds are low that you will be with other freshman (as those dorms don’t have the movement that upper class dorms have with people going away on co-op etc.)
Housing at Northeastern is in flux right now with many changes this year - Honors freshman out of IV and into EV, sophomores being guaranteed housing but not being able to get suites anymore, etc. For that reason, nobody can predict what will happen for next year’s NUin returnees.
