I've seen video tours etc of upperclassmen housing, but can't seem to find any on freshman housing. Can anyone shed any light on the freshman housing?

From what I’ve seen of other College Dorms, (with the exception of Honors Freshman Housing at NEU), the Freshman Housing at NEU seems pretty typical.

Where do they place the students that first go abroad on the NUIN? Do they just fill in where spring transfers or graduating students leave holes? Do they get to “pick” or are they just placed according to the availability.

Freshmen don’t get to choose where they live, so neither do NUin freshmen.

Not true. My friends from NUin filled the holes of other students. Some ended up in normal freshman housing, but others got West Village with the upperclassmen. A few even got to pick who they lived with (a friend from NUin).

Didn’t mean for my post to sound like I was 100% sure Just my experience with people I met in passing who did NUin. That’s interesting!

Someone posted somewhere that generally the nuin students end up with housing with upperclassmen and more often than not in singles. This would make my student very happy. Anyway to guarantee a single for spring?

Absolutely not. Even upperclassmen picking with good lottery numbers usually don’t get singles, so it is HIGHLY unlikely a NUin student would get put into one. However if a double opens up, then they might put two NUin students in a double together, but in an upperclassmen dorm.
