<p>I'm pretty sure that is not true at all, but if they were, then a 2180 SAT and a 3.8 GPA would not suffice, I'm sure. But again because they aren't, people with numbers higher than the OP don't get in to Duke and Northwestern, and people with numbers lower than the OP do get in as well.</p>
<p>There's no evidence that Northwestern is more number based than other private peers. It has slightly lower percentage of the freshmen ranked in the top 10 percent of their class than many peers. It also requires "Why this school" essay + short statements on top of the common application.</p>
