Nursing Class of 2019

Has anyone gotten an interview from the head nurse? i have not and it is already december 3rd. I got the regular interview, but now i'm worried since i haven't gotten the nursing interview. Anyone?

What do you mean by an interview from the head nurse? I have gotten the normal ED interview, and then a phone call from a women part of the school of nursing.
However, that phone call was pretty much more like an informational call where I was asked if I had any questions about the nursing program at Penn. I don’t necessarily know if that was an important call, but honestly, it only lasted about 20min and did not feel like an interview at all.
The lady on the phone was really nice though!

If you didn’t get that call I wouldn’t worry much about it!

@stars987‌ The phone call was what I meant by the interview. I did not get one… Maybe I missed the phone call? I don’t know but it’s making me nervous :-/

@stars987‌ Also, when did you get the call?

I got an email first to schedule the phone call. And this happened towards the end of November; I think it occurred like a week before Thanksgiving.

Don’t worry, I’m nervous too! Haha At first I thought the phone call would be a really formal conversation, but it was short and was definitely not like the ED interview. Seriously, I wouldn’t worry too much whether you got a call or not. The lady on the phone had not seen my application either!
Maybe you’ll get one soon too! do you know anyone applying to UPenn nursing that got the call too?

I also got a call from the head of the nursing enrollment, about a week ago. The woman I spoke to didn’t really have an interview-y vibe either but she did ask some basic questions about why I chose Penn etc. She kept saying, over and over “IF the decision in the next two weeks is positive then your opportunities WOULD be etc. etc.” So, based on that, in my opinion the chat with her is a poor indicator of any acceptance decisions. Good luck! And be sure to check your email because it may have ended up in junk or something.

I agree with pennplease2015. The interviewer never hinted that we were on the verge of being accepted and since she stated that she had not seen the application yet, I would assume that it was more of an informational thing.

If anything, there’s no point on worrying about it now. Nothing left but to party hard until decision day hahha

Thanks guys! @pennplease @stars987 I don’t think i missed the email… it seems quite late to get any notification now. oh well, time to wait and see.

I bet there are people who don’t get a call from the nursing school and still get accepted! Watch you get in. ;D

By the way, do you have any idea how many nursing applicants there are for ED? Cause I read somewhere that they only accept around 30-ish applicants for ED…which seems really really selective :frowning:

That’s because there’s only 75 in the program total and they don’t get that many applicants. Probably less than 500

@pennplease2015‌ Ohh thanks!
Although I feel like, maybe not for ED, but in total there must be more than 500 people applying, although maybe not over 600, because nursing has recently become more popular. Perhaps for ED they get near 200.

Hahaha yeah sorry, I meant less than 500 for ED. But absolutely more than that for the combination of ED and RD applicants. But really, nursing is just as hard to get into as Wharton if looked at proportionally, it’s just that less people apply to Nursing than Wharton.

One more day! Also, if they only accept 30 applicants out of say, less than 500, then wouldn’t the accept rate be around 5-10%. That’s ridiculously low!
